Fatal Error During Xp Installation

I am having a $#(%&$#% time getting Kaspersky Security Center 9 to install Kaspersky Endpoint 8 on some of my workstations. (Not all of them, about a third though). Either they get to 100% on the installation and then never move past 'Waiting for application initialization' in the installation task or even if they are online and I can sit at the workstation and ping the server and vice versa KSC never will recognize that they are available to do the install (of KES or of the Network Agent either one). So I end up, trying advice from the Kaspersky forums, running the Kaspersky Remover and wiping all trace of Kaspersky programs from the machine. Then after rebooting, I manually install the Network Agent and tell it where the server is. Then, viola, KSC does see them and recognizes they are online. Then I try to do the remote reinstall, and it does the same thing all over again.

And on the client side, the machine has KES running, but never picks up the key file or policies or anything from the server - like it thinks it is a standalone installation without the server management. This is driving me up the wall, making me constantly worried because a third of my workstations are running free without any working AV, and sucking up a ton of my time for no result. Any advice from the Spicey world?

(Besides changing AV since I already paid for the license on this one.). Hey - I am seeing the same issues. Kaspersky support recommended that I reset the password on the service account that is used for pushing the files, but that has produced no results for me. I have to say that I really liked Kaspersky Admin Kit - that was easy. The Security Center seems to have needlessly added a layer (or two) of complication.

This was one of the reasons that we ditched Symantec when they forced us to upgrade from SAV 9 to SEP 10 - sucked all of the fun out of using their product, and sucked all of the available HD space as well. Fairly frustrated with the Upgraded products so far.

I have a problem with deployment of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows from Kaspersky Security Center. Versions: KES: 10.2.4.674 NA: 10.2.434 I use 'sometimes' so many times so please don't be upset.

KSC Managed computers structure contains besides many groups also groups Install Agent and Install KES. So when we get a new PC we move this computer from Unassigned computers to Install Agent group. Then automatic installation of Network Agent usually starts immediately (a created task is set up to do it this way). After successful deployment of NA we move this computer again to Install KES group.

We expect the task will run immediately as well as an installation of NA and takes at most 5-7 minutes as usual. But sometimes we are so wrong. Sometimes the task starts without problem and deployment is finished within 5 mins. Sometimes the task doesn't start at all. We don't know why. Sometimes it starts but later it get stuck at 2%, 32%. We don't know why.

(All pings work: from server to client PC, from PC to server, from random PC to client PC.) When it happens we usually have to do this: 1. We move this PC from Install KES to Install Agent and then to Install KES again. Sometimes it works. If not, we try this 3-5 times. If this doesn't help, we follow the step two. We remove this PC completely from both groups and then we have to find it in Unassigned computers again and then we move the computer to Install KES group. Sometimes the task starts and everything is OK.

If not, we try to combine both steps listed above, sometimes 10-15 times. You can imagine it's so irritating. Sometimes nothing helps so we have to leave this computer for hours and then we try the step one and than it usually works. And this occurs more and more often.

Four months ago it happened maybe to 1 PC of 10. Now it is happening to 7 computers of 10. Last time we spent over one hour on it without any results. The next day we tried it and it started immediately and deployment was done within 3 mins. From my experience, the push install of KES via KSC is sometime unreliable.

For troubleshooting purposes, let's leave the automatic installation out of the picture. Now let's troublehsoot and try a few things: 1. When an automatic installation failed do you try manually push installing KES to that same machine? Does it work or failed? When it fail.

Check the installation log to see if there's any indication why it failed. Sometimes KSE get stuck in the middle of installation because of the NA.

When you're manually pushing the installation and it failed when using the Network Agent then try using MS Windows Resources option. If the latter work, then the problem is with something blocking the NA from completing the task. Are you running the same version of NA and KSC? This is Kaspersky recommended. Thank you for answer. We've never tried to push KES installation manually.

Maybe we should try it for troubleshooting purposes. But it's not a permanent solution. It might be a problem of NA. Sometimes it get stuck at Waiting for connection, sometimes at Copying files to., sometimes at Setup started. But mostly it doesn't start at all. This is my actual problem and I need to solve this first.

Last time KSC showed this eror: Event name Completed with error Severity: Functional failure Application: Kaspersky Security Center Administration Server Version number: 10.2.434 Task name: Automatic installation - Kaspersky Security Center Network Agent (10.2.434) Description: Remote installation completed with error on client computer: Fatal error during installation. (Application cannot be installed. The later version of Network Agent (10.2.2019) is detected.) In case it is a problem of NA it doesn't explain why KES deployment is not working at one time but I can push it automatically one hour later without any error.

I am going to try to simulate the state when it occurs and when it doesn't.
